Landmark Colorado solar facility delivers clean energy, economic benefits, and long-term value
BOULDER, CO, UNITED STATES, September 14, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — JUWI Inc., a leading provider of renewable energy solutions has announced the successful commencement of commercial operations at the 145 MW Axial Basin Solar Project, a utility-scale solar facility located in Moffat County, Colorado. The generation facility achieved commercial operation on October 24, 2025 and is owned by Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association, a wholesale electric power generation and transmission cooperative serving electric distribution cooperatives and public power district members in four states.
Located in northwestern Colorado, the facility demonstrates how large-scale renewable energy projects can be successfully deployed in communities with deep roots in traditional energy production. The project represents a practical and balanced approach to energy production, creating new opportunities for economic development while enhancing grid reliability.
JUWI led the development and construction of the project, leveraging its extensive expertise in utility-scale solar deployment to deliver the facility safely, efficiently, and on schedule. Featuring advanced photovoltaic technology and optimized site design, the project is expected to generate enough clean electricity annually to power tens of thousands of homes while offsetting substantial carbon emissions over its operating life.
Beyond its energy benefits, the Axial Basin Solar Project has provided meaningful economic value to Moffat County and the surrounding region. During construction, the project supported hundreds of direct and indirect jobs, creating opportunities for local contractors, vendors, and workers. Over the coming decades, the facility will continue contributing to the local economy through long-term tax revenues, operations and maintenance activities, and ongoing community investment.
“JUWI is incredibly proud to have developed and constructed the Axial Basin Solar Project,” said Michael Martin, Chief Executive Officer of JUWI Inc. “This achievement reflects the dedication and expertise of our team, the support of the local community, and the strong collaboration we have built with stakeholders. Together, we have delivered a high-quality renewable energy asset that will provide reliable, affordable electricity and long-term economic benefits for Colorado communities for decades to come.”
The successful completion of the Axial Basin Solar Project further reinforces JUWI’s commitment to advancing renewable energy infrastructure across North America and helping utilities, cooperatives, and communities achieve their clean energy objectives.
